Alan Hsieh

Visiting Medical Student

Alan (he/him) grew up in Cupertino, CA just south of San Francisco before attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry. His first lab job was working on machine learning imaging of maize stomata under Dr. Andrew Leakey. Following graduation, he spent a gap year working in an emergency department as a technician before applying to medical school.

Alan currently attends medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. He is a first-year medical student interested in internal medicine and will spend the summer interning in the Suliman Lab.

In his free time, Alan loves hiking with his dog and running. He also has a twin brother that is also in medical school.
