Louise Swainson-Wagensonner, PhD

Louise Swainson-Wagensonner (she/her/hers) grew up and did her undergraduate degree in the United Kingdom, then moved to France to attend Université Montpellier II for graduate school. Louise completed her immunology PhD in Dr. Naomi Taylor’s lab where she worked on the role of IL-7 in T cell development and peripheral homeostatic mechanisms.

Since coming to UCSF, Louise has focused on the pre-clinical development of HIV therapeutics, targeting pathways to reduce immunopathology and eradicate replication competent virus.

When not in the lab, Louise can be found triathlon training, playing pinball, and relaxing with her family.
