Maricela Peña
Lab Operations Assistant
Maricela grew up in Nicaragua and attended Escuelita Ciudad Jardin for pre-School and for High School she went 4 years to Gateway High, then graduated in summer of 2017 from John O'Connell High. Her first job was working at Mama Art Cafe. During undergrad she was working at a warehouse doing 10+ hours a day and also learning how to be a single mother. Her first lab position was in CIL doing shipping and also as a Administrative Assistant.
Maricela Is still in college working on what she wants to study. She hopes to finish school soon.
Since she started working with CIL Maricela has been enjoying learning new things and working with her co-workers. One of her favorite things is going to the cafeteria except on Wednesday, when she goes check out the food truck.
