Zach Howard

Graduate Researcher

Zach (he/him/his) grew up in Seattle, Washington and completed his undergraduate degree in Genetics and Cell Biology at Washington State University. As an undergraduate, Zach studied the innate immune response to Coxiella burnetii under Dr. Alan Goodman and the susceptibility of C. burnetii to host sex hormones under Dr. Anders Omsland. Zach is now a first-year graduate student in the Biomedical Sciences program.

When not in the lab, Zach likes to hike, fish, backpack, and snowboard. As a new San Francisco resident, he also enjoys exploring the city and discovering the local coffee shops and breweries.
